About me

After decades of working as a creative in communication arts, I’ve worked on all sides of marketing and communication as a creator and a leader. Crafting communication strategies, developing creative campaigns and executing content plans across every medium. My experience spans ad agencies, digital agencies, in-house agencies, freelance as well as launching my own content creation studio. I have led brands to their mission, vision, value statements on the way to uncovering their purpose. I have created and launched multifaceted campaigns and content for Nike, Coca-Cola, Chick-fil-a, RedBull, Lululemon, Reebok, Wells Fargo, Campbells, and many others. These experiences have given me the opportunity to work closely with amazing and talented people at all levels across different industries and disciplines. Including, blue chip brands, production companies, media partners, web developers, social media, marketing experts and more. Along the way I’ve written, produced and directed an award-winning feature length documentary, had my work published in advertising annuals, advertising textbooks, advertising award shows and had my work screened at the Cannes International Film Festival. As time has passed, I have grown as a creative person but perhaps even more importantly I have continued to hone my process. Through failures and successes, I have developed a solid understanding of what it takes to put forth successful messaging while keeping everyone involved inspired and informed.

As I mature in my career my strengths become clear as well as how I can best apply them. First and foremost, I am an idea guy and pride myself on finding connections between seemingly disparate phenomena. I consider this to be of value not only for crafting a communication strategy but also when it comes to evaluating what creative solutions might be the most effective. When it comes to solutions, I have found value in building strong relationships with all stakeholders through open and honest dialogue. I’ve also learned how to approach the “problem” we are trying to solve. Finding success here is the ability to look at the problem as a puzzle the collective is trying to complete. It’s not us versus them which can lead to unproductive friction between different disciplines. It’s a collaborative pursuit to the best solution. Of course, along the way there will be unforeseen challenges and I have experienced some pretty big hurdles. My experience has taught me to be adaptable, taking things as they come and finding solutions along the way. Lastly, I have enjoyed success and found fulfillment in developing talent within the teams that I have led and worked with. Keeping them inspired, motivated and helping them realize success navigating the gauntlet of brining ideas to life.

The next chapter of my career will be finding an organization where I can leverage my learning and experience to help a brand, or brands be more efficient and successful with their communication goals. Together we get there by crafting a successful strategy, following a proven process and uncovering ideas that resonate with the target audience. But perhaps most importantly having fun along the way. I look forward to learning more about your organization and how I might be able to add value.
